SBU Men's Basketball Returns Home to Host #24 Central Missouri on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist is set to host #24 Central Missouri on Saturday afternoon as both squads battle for seeding position in the MIAA Tournament.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his tenth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 179-113 (.613) record. Coach Guiot is the winningest coach in SBU history, has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and has three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Kim Anderson is in his 12th season as the head coach of Central Missouri. Anderson is the all-time winningest coach at UCM, holding a career coaching record of 244-90.

Central Missouri leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 38-22. Central Missouri claimed a 69-56 victory over Southwest Baptist at UCM earlier this season.

Scouting the Bearcats
SBU is coming off of a 113-83 loss at Missouri Southern and are now 13-12 (6-10 MIAA) on the season. With a victory, or a Pittsburg State loss, the Bearcats will clinch a spot in the MIAA Tournament for the 10th straight year.

The Bearcats are led in scoring by Desi Barmore who averages 16.6 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game, while Rashaad Brown-Peterson averages 15.7 points per game. Derrick Stewart averages 9.3 points per game, hitting a team high 57 three's, while Preston Guiot averages 9.1 points per game and 6.6 assists per game.

Scouting the Mules
Central Missouri comes into the game against the Bearcats with a 21-4 (13-3 MIAA) record on the season and are ranked #24 in the latest NABC Coaches Poll. UCM has won 7 straight, most recently an 82-76 victory at Lindenwood.

Central Missouri provides a balanced offense, with 8 different players averaging over 6.5 points per game. Dillon Deck leads the Mules in scoring and rebounding at 13.4 ppg and 5.2 rpg, while Charles Hammork averages 12.5 ppg and Daylen Robinson averages 12.4 ppg.
