Box Score Joplin, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team lost to Missouri Southern 113-83 on Wednesday night. With the loss, SBU falls to 13-12 (6-10 MIAA) on the season.
Missouri Southern jumped out of the gate early, taking a quick 10-2 lead to open the game up. Southwest Baptist fought right back, taking a one point lead at 14-13 six minutes into the game. The Bearcats hung tight with the Lions over the next ten minutes before Missouri Southern used a 11-2 run to open the game up as SBU went into the half down 54-43. In the second half Missouri Southern slowly started to build their lead as SBU fell 113-83.
Desi Barmore led the Bearcats with 25 points and 5 rebounds, while
Rashaad Brown-Peterson added 12 points and
Jaywuan Hill 10 points. As a team SBU shot 45.2% from the field, 25.0% from beyond the arc, and 82.1% from the free throw line.
SBU returns home on Saturday, February 22 when they host Central Missouri. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
