Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team will open up their 2014 season when they travel to the Arkansas-Monticello Classic in Bentonville, Arkansas on Friday. The Bearcats are set to take on six different teams across the three-day tournament.

SBU's season opener is set for Friday, February 14 when they play Northwestern Oklahoma State with first pitch set for 9:30 a.m. The Bearcats close out day one against Harding with a start time of 3:30 p.m.

In day two, the Bearcats are slated to play against Illinois-Springfield (9:30 a.m.) followed by a quick turnaround before facing Oklahoma Panhandle State at 11:30 a.m. In the final day of competition, SBU will take on Drury at 9:30 a.m. followed by host Arkansas-Monticello at 1:30 p.m.

The Bearcats home opener isn't until Thursday, February 27 when they host Truman State, 10 games into the season.
