Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will continue their road trip on Saturday when they travel to Nebraska-Kearney for a match-up with the Lopers. The Bearcats are in the middle of a stretch where five of six games are on the road.
The Coaches and the All-Time SeriesSBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her first season on the Bearcat bench. Coach Keizer has spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.
Kevin Chandey begins his 4th season as the head coach at Nebraska-Kearney. Chaney holds a career coaching record of 38-68, all at Nebraska-Kearney.
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Nebraska-Kearney 2-0. The Bearcats claimed last year's meeting by a final of 85-66 in Bolivar.
Scouting the BearcatsSouthwest Baptist fell in their MIAA opener to Washburn 80-64 and are now 3-3 (0-1 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by
Brook Duncan who is averaging 11.2 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game.
Dilonna Johnson is also in double figures averaging 10.3 points per game and 2.7 assists per game, while
Megan Rosenbohm averages 7.5 points per game and
Leann Terrill averages 6.7 points per game.
Scouting the LopersNebraska-Kearney is coming off of a 92-64 loss to Missouri Southern, and are now 3-4 (0-1 MIAA) on the season. The Lopers are led in scoring and rebouding by Amarah Williams who is averaging 18.3 ppg and 9.1 rpg. UNK also has four others in double-figures in Laramey Lewis (17.0 ppg), McKenzie Brown (13.0 ppg), Alexa Hogberg (12.7 ppg), and Kelsey Fitzgerald (11.1 ppg).
