SBU Men's Basketball Heads to Russellville for ATU Tournament This Weekend

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will continue their road trip on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Arkansas Tech for the Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament. The Bearcats are set to play Ouachita Baptist in a neutral site match-up on Friday before playing host Arkansas Tech on Saturday.

The Coaches
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his first season on the SBU bench after coming to the Bearcats from John Brown University. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 182-106 across nine seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Dennis Nutt begins his fourth season as the head coach at Ouachita Baptist. Nutt is a former NBA player, spending three years with the Dallas Mavericks.

Chad Kline begins his first season as the head coach at Arkansas Tech. Kline has spent the last three years as the top assistant at Arkansas Tech.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats are coming off of a 80-77 overtime victory at William Jewell, and now stand at 2-3 on the season. Southwest Baptist is led in scoring by Daymond Cowlah who averages 14.2 points per game to go along with 2.4 assists per game. Menas Stephens averages a double-double at 11.4 points per game and a team high 13.0 rebounds per game, while Quinton Smith is averaging 8.2 points per game.
