Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team hung tight with #15 Northeastern State on Monday afternoon, but ultimately fell 3-1 to the Riverhawks. With the loss, SBU drops to 0-10 on the season.
Northeastern State jumped ahead early, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest, before the Bearcats settled down and gave a strong defensive effort. SBU was able to get on the scoreboard in the 39th minute when
Kyler Moore knocked in a goal from straight on, as SBU went into the half down 2-1. SBU was unable to put another goal on the scoreboard, and Northeastern State added one more second half goal, as SBU fell 3-1 to the 15th ranked Riverhawks.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, October 9 when they host Southern Nazarene. Play is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
