Box Score Maryville, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team fell in a hard fought battle at Northwest Missouri on Saturday evening 3-2. With the loss, SBU drops to 6-10 (1-7 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats had a strong comeback effort against Northwest Missouri after dropping the first two sets 25-22 and 25-21. SBU came back to take the third and fourth sets 25-17 and 25-23, before falling in the fifth set 15-11.
SBU was led in kills by
Kalyn Sotomayor and
Payton White with 12 a piece, while
Lori Angello had 11 kills. Defensively
Hannah Blount continues to lead the Bearcats with 27 digs, while
Christine Winkelman picked up 15 digs. From the setting position,
Kelsey Fankhauser picked up 43 assists.
The Bearcats will return home on Friday, October 10 when they host Emporia State. Play is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
