Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team played a tight contest against Missouri Western on Friday evening in Bolivar, but fell 3-1. With the loss, SBU drops to 8-17 (3-14 MIAA).
The Bearcats came out strong, dominating the first set against the nationally recognized Griffons, by taking the set 25-14. Missouri Western would then take the next three sets 25-14, 25-19, 25-19 as SBU fell 3-1 to MWSU.
Lori Angello had a strong performance for SBU, picking up a double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs, while
Taryn Marton also gave the Bearcats a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs.
Kelsey Fankhauser had the Bearcats third double-double on the evening with 36 assists and 10 digs, while
Hannah Blount had a game high 18 digs in the backcourt.
The Bearcast will return to action on Saturday, November 1 when they host Northwest Missouri. Senior night is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
