Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking overtime contest to Central Baptist on Tuesday afternoon in Bolivar 3-2.
The Bearcats were the first to jump on the scoreboard in only the 7th minute of action when
Joshua Robinson headed in a strong corner kick from
Justin Schaeffer to put SBU up 1-0. Central Baptist responded in the 13th minute with a goal of their own, and added another goal in the 26th minute as SBU went into the half down 2-1.
The Bearcats tied the game up in the 52nd minute when
Kyler Moore found the back of the net on an entry pass from
Colton Harden to tie the game up at 2-2. The Bearcats and Mustangs would hold even for the remainder of regulation, forcing an overtime period. In overtime, CBC scored in the 96th minute as SBU fell 3-2.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, October 30 when they travel to Southern Nazarene. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Bethany, Oklahoma.
