Box Score Kearney, Neb. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team hung tough with #6 Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday afternoon, taking a set from the nationally ranked Lopers, but fell 3-1. With the loss SBU drops to 8-15 (3-12 MIAA) on the season.
After falling in the first set 25-13, SBU came back with a strong 25-23 set two victory before falling in the final two sets 25-16 and 25-19.
Lori Angello led SBU in kills on the afternoon with a team high 12 while
Kalyn Sotomayor added 11.
Kelsey Fankhauser gave SBU 34 assists from the setter position, while
Hannah Blount had a team high 17 digs in the loss.
SBU will return to action on Tuesday, October 28 when they host Pittsburg State. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
