SBU Women's Soccer Defeats Emporia State 3-0, Picks up 10th Win on the Season

Emporia, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team picked up their 10th victory on the season with a 3-0 shutout performance over Emporia State on Friday evening. With the victory, SBU improves to 10-3 (7-2 MIAA) on the season.

The Bearcats got the scoring started mid-way through the first half when Whitney Snow took a shot from 25 yards out, on a pass from Karla Jamison, to give SBU a 1-0 lead. The Bearcats would hold the lead, heading into the break up 1-0. In the second half, the Bearcats added to their lead in the 61st minute when Karla Jamison headed in a pass from Taylor Schmidt to give SBU a 2-0 lead. SBU added another goal in the 88th minute on an unassisted goal from Whitney Snow, her second of the day, as the Bearcats went on to a 3-0 victory. In goal, Cheyenne Forshey picked up the complete game victory with six saves.

SBU will return to action on Sunday, October 19 when they travel to Washburn University. Play is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. from Topeka, Kansas.
