Box Score Warrensburg, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team fell in a tough match-up at #10 Central Missouri on Sunday afternoon 2-0. With the loss, SBU drops to 9-3 (6-2 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats and Jennies played an extremely tight first half, with neither team getting on the scoreboard as they headed into the half tied 0-0. Central Missouri broke the tie in the 48th minute when SBU scored an own goal when the ball went into the Bearcat goal after being deflected off of the defense. UCM added another goal in the 52nd minute, as SBU would end up falling 2-0.
The Bearcats outshot the Jennies 23 to 11 on the afternoon, but were unable to get on the scoreboard in the game. In goal,
Cheyenne Forshey picked up 7 saves in the loss.
SBU will return to action on Friday, October 17 when they travel to Emporia State. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Emporia, Kansas.
