Box Score St. Charles, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team picked up a big road victory over Lindenwood on Friday evening, 3-1. With the victory SBU moves to 9-2 (6-1 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats fell behind early to Lindenwood, as the Lions netted a goal only 47 seconds into the game as SBU trailed 1-0 early. The Bearcats responded strong, tying the game up just five minutes later when
Whitney Snow headed in a pass from
AC Pettit to tie the game up at 1-1. The Bearcats took the lead in the 36th minute off of Snow's second goal of the game, this one from
Karla Jamison and
Taylor Schmidt, as SBU took a 2-1 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Bearcats continued their strong control of possession while limiting the Lindenwood offense. SBU was able to add to their lead late in the, in the 83rd minute of play, when Schmidt knocked in a goal courtesy of
Karla Jamison. The Bearcats would go on to claim the 3-1 victory.
SBU will return to action on Sunday, October 12 when they travel to #10 Central Missouri. Play is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. from Warrensburg, Missouri.
