SBU Men's Basketball to Host Lincoln on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - After coming off of a victory over Lindenwood, Southwest Baptist will look to build some momentum when they host Lincoln on Saturday.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his tenth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 175-110 (.614) record. Coach Guiot is the winningest coach in SBU history, has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and has three NCAA Tournament appearances.

John Redmond is in his 5th season as the head coach at Lincoln where he has compiled a 15-92 record. Prior to coming to Lincoln, Redmond served as the head coach at Arkansas Baptist.

Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Lincoln 23-17. Southwest Baptist won both of last year's meetings, and most recently came away with a 107-103 victory last year.

Scouting the Bearcats
SBU is coming off of a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Lindenwood 71-69. With the victory, the Bearcats pull back up to .500 at 9-9 (2-7 MIAA) on the season.

The Bearcats are led in scoring by Rashaad Brown-Peterson who averages 16.8 points per game, while Desi Barmore averages 16.1 ppg and 6.7 rebounds per game. Derrick Stewart averages 10.7 points per game, hitting a team high 45 three's, while Preston Guiot averages 9.6 points per game and 6.8 assists per game.

Scouting the Blue Tigers
Lincoln comes into the game against Southwest Baptist with a 2-15 (0-9 MIAA) record on the season. The Blue Tigers are coming off of an 89-61 loss to Central Missouri earlier this week.

After enduring turnover within their roster, as Lincoln lost two of their top three scorers, Lincoln will heavily rely on Joshua Buie. Buie averages 14.4 ppg and 3.3 apg while shooting 50.0% from the field. The next leading scorer for the Blue Tigers is Charles Cole at 9.6 ppg while also pulling down a team high 4.9 rpg.
