Brown-Peterson Hits Game Winning 3 in 71-69 Win at Lindenwood

Box Score St. Charles, Mo. - Rashaad Brown-Peterson proved once again to be clutch in the closing minutes of the Southwest Baptist vs Lindenwood game. With only 4.9 seconds remaining, Brown-Peterson came off of a screen, and hit a three-pointer to give SBU a 71-69 victory.

The Bearcats found themselves early in the contest when Lindenwood jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead. The Bearcats would remain down by around ten points for the remainder of the first half, as they went into the half down 42-29.

SBU started the second half on a 6-0 run to cut the lead back to single digits at 42-35. Lindenwood once again pushed their lead back to double-digits, with Southwest Baptist trailing 56-46 with 11:07 to play. However, SBU wouldn't back down as they went on a 5-0 run to cut the lead in half at 56-51. Lindenwood pushed their lead back to seven before SBU went on a 13-4, taking their first lead of the game. The Bearcats would hold a small margin for the final five minutes of the game, with Lindenwood taking a 69-68 lead off of free throws with 31 seconds remaining. Rashaad Brown-Peterson hit a clutch game winning three-pointer with only 4.9 seconds remaining giving SBU a 71-69 come-from-behind victory.

Desi Barmore led the SBU Bearcats in scoring with 22 points off of 10 of 14 shooting from the field to go along with 9 rebounds. In his return to the court, Rashaad Brown-Peterson had 14 points, while Jaywuan Hill had 10 points and Menas Stephens added 9 points and 8 rebounds. As a team, SBU shot 47.7% from the field, 22.2% from beyond the arc, and 62.5% from the free throw line.

SBU will return home on Saturday, January 25 when they host Lincoln University. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
