SBU Men's Basketball Hits the Road Again to take on Lindenwood

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist continues their two-game road trip when they travel to Lindenwood on Wednesday.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his tenth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 174-110 (.613) record. Coach Guiot is the winningest coach in SBU history, has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and has three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Brad Soderberg is in his 5th season as the head coach of Lindenwood, and his 18th year as a collegiate head coach. Soderberg's career coaching record stands at 310-173, and 99-26 while at Lindenwood.

Lindenwood leads the all-time series 2-1, claiming an 87-76 victory the last time these teams met in 2012-13.

Scouting the Bearcats
SBU is coming off of a 89-84 loss on the road against Missouri Western. The Bearcats now sit at 8-9 (1-7 MIAA) on the season.

The Bearcats are led in scoring by Rashaad Brown-Peterson who averages 16.9 points per game, while Desi Barmore averages 15.7 ppg and 6.6 rebounds per game. Derrick Stewart averages 11.1 points per game, hitting a team high 45 three's, while Preston Guiot averages 10.2 points per game and 7.3 assists per game.

Scouting the Lions
Lindenwood comes into the game against Southwest Baptist with an 8-10 (3-5 MIAA record on the season. Lindenwood has lost their last two, most recently against Missouri Southern 70-50.

Tyler Ressel leads the scoring attack for the Lions, averaging 16.1 ppg while Darris Smith averages 15.8 ppg and a team high 3.0 apg. Brandon Marquardt is also averaging double-figures at 10.0 ppg while the Lions' leading rebounder is Garrett Reeg at 5.9 rpg.
