Box Score Edmond, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team fell to Central Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon 89-72. With the loss, SBU falls to 8-7 (1-5 MIAA) while UCO improves to 10-4 (4-3 MIAA).
Southwest Baptist was quick out of the gate against Central Oklahoma, taking a an early 17-10 lead with 14:08 to go in the first half. However, Central Oklahoma continued to play SBU close, and would eventually take the lead and slowly build a lead of their own, going into the half with SBU down 44-34.
In the second half Central Oklahoma maintained their lead, and used the final six minutes of the contest to extend their lead as SBU fell 89-72.
The Bearcats had four players in double figures, as
Jaywuan Hill,
Rashaad Brown-Peterson, and
Desi Barmore each contributed 12 points.
Preston Guiot was also in double-figures with 11 points. As a team SBU shot 44.1% from the floor, 42.3% from beyond the arc, and 75.0% from the free throw line.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, January 16 when they host Northwest Missouri State. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
