Box Score Pittsburg, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University football team dropped a tough contest at #14 Pittsburg State on Saturday evening, 59-7.
The Bearcat defense held a potent Pittsburg State offense to only 3 points during the first quarter, as SBU trailed 3-0 heading into the second quarter. However, Pittsburg State would add 28 points in both the second and third quarters, as SBU went down 59-0.
The Bearcats held PSU scoreless in the 4th quarter, as SBU scored their lone touchdown on a 27 yard pass from
Willie Tindal to
Derwyn Lauderdale, to fall 59-7.
Willie Tindal was 10-24 for 115 yards and a touchdown, while
Derwyn Lauderdale had 2 receptions for 30 yards and a score. On the ground
ViaVia Manuma had 52 yards rushing on 12 attempts. Defensively
Shaquille Shedd led the Bearcats with 9 tackles.
The Bearcats will return home on Saturday, September 28 when they play host to the Lions of Missouri Southern. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. from Plaster Stadium in Bolivar.
