Domingos Carissimo had a strong final match in an SBU uniform, claiming victories in #1 singles and #2 doubles, but the Bearcats fell to #17 Midwestern State in the Sweet 16, 5-2.
The Bearcats fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, with the lone doubles victory coming from the team of
Domingos Carissimo and
Daniel Cardona. Midwestern State would win the first two singles matches to go up 4-1 before Carissimo would win #1 singles in straight sets to pull the Bearcats within two at 4-2. However, Midwestern State would win one more singles match as SBU fell 5-2.
The Bearcats closed out their season 12-12, advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2008.
