Cleveland, Ohio - Southwest Baptist currently ranks 44th in the NCAA, and 3rd in the MIAA, in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings as released today by the organization.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women's and seven men's.
The Bearcats have collected a total of 252.50 points, and trail only Central Missouri (279.00) and Central Oklahoma (270.50) in the national standings. SBU has a chance to move further up in the standings, as they are competing in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships this weekend.
The final standings will be released on June 6, 2013.
