Bolivar, Mo. - SBU enters into the upcoming week of play coming off of a 2-4 week with victories over Truman State and Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats begin their week with a non-conference match-up at Missouri S&T, followed by four games in two days against Washburn.
The Bearcats will meet up with Missouri S&T for a double header on Tuesday, April 9th after the cancellation of three games earlier this season. Last time these two teams met up SBU was able to capture a hard fought 11-9 win. SBU's all-time record against Missouri S & T now stands at 40-37.
On Friday the 12, SBU with play four games in two days against Washburn University. Last season the Bearcats went 0-4 against the Ichabods in Topeka, Kansas. The Bearcats travel back to Topeka this season and look to take all four games from a struggling Washburn team.
The Bearcats return home on Friday the 19 to take on Missouri Southern for the first time this year. The Bearcats trail in the all-time series against Missouri Southern 25-76. Missouri Western took two of two games from SBU last season, claiming a 3-9 victory in the first game of the series and a 4-7 loss in the second game.
Going into this week of play the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats are ranked eleventh in the MIAA. SBU is two games behind Central Oklahoma who holds a record of 14-14 in league play.
The MIAA is represented by #12 Missouri Western and #16 Central Missouri in the NCAA Division II national rankings.
Central Missouri dropped below Missouri Western in the rankings after dropping one game against Nebraska-Kearney, Washburn, and SBU.
