Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team fell in a double-header to Truman State on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats lost game one 0-17 followed by a 2-8 game two loss.
After falling to TSU 0-17 in game one, the Bearcats returned to the field ready to battle in game two. After falling behind 2-0 after the first inning,
Cendyl Carter got into a grove, keeping Truman State off of the scoreboard for the next three innings. After TSU went up 6-0, the Bearcats battled back in the bottom of the sixth. After a leadoff single from
Lyndie Routh, the Bearcats drew back-to-back walks to load the bases. With two outs in the inning,
Alandria Jensen doubled to right field, bringing home two runners, as SBU then trailed 2-6. However, it wasn't enough as the Bearcats eventually fell 2-8 in game two.
The Bearcats will hit the road on Monday, April 8 when they travel to Springfield, Missouri for a match-up with Evangel. Game one of the double-header is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. from the Killian Sports Complex in Springfield.
