Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team fell to Northwest Missouri State on Friday afternoon 3-16.

Northwest Missouri jumped out to a 1-0 lead after a half inning of play before the Bearcats responded in the bottom half of the inning. With one out in the inning, Jared Robillard and Bo Helsel drew back-to-back walks and then were brought home on a Spencer Blacksher triple to put SBU up 2-1. The Bearcats were able to get on the scoreboard again in the bottom of seventh when Christian Binger singled, followed by an rbi double from Landon Young. However, it wasn't enough as SBU fell in game one of the three game series 3-16.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, April 6 for the second and third games of the series against Northwest Missouri. Opening pitch of the double-header is set for 1:00 p.m. from Dodson Field in Bolivar.
