Springfield, Mo. – The Southwest Baptist University Bearcats captured a 5-2 victory in today's MIAA Women's Tennis Championship. The Bearcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches. SBU continued their winning ways with victories in #1 and #3 singles leading to their third straight conference championship.
The Bearcats again played strong across the board, sweeping doubles action for the third straight day with victories coming from Fanni Varga/Christina Zentai, Adrienn Kovacs/Faiga Schmidt, and Mehak Singh/Andjela Panovski. In singles, the bearcats received victories from Fanni Varga and Christina Zentai to finish off the day with a conference championship.
The Bearcats will now wait to see who their opponent will be in the NCAA South Central Regional tournament. On Tuesday April, 23, the bracket will be released.
