Bolivar, Mo. – The Southwest Baptist University softball team dropped both games in a double-header against the University of Nebraska Kearney on Friday afternoon, losing game one 12-0 and game two 9-1.
After falling to Nebraska-Kearney 0-12 in game one, the Bearcats returned to the field in the second game ready to battle for a win in game two. Through the first few innings of play the Bearcats played a tight contest against the Lopers. SBU received a surge of energy fuelled by a home run from
Caitlyn Cooner and strong starting pitching from Cendyl Carrter, but in the end were unable to hold off the Lopers.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, April 20 when they will host Fort Hays State University. Game one of the double-header is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar.
