Maryville, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's tennis clinched the #1 seed in the upcoming MIAA Women's Tennis Championships with a 5-0 victory over Northwest Missouri State. With the victory, SBU moves to 17-1 (10-0 MIAA) and are guaranteed at least a share of the MIAA Women's Tennis Regular Season Championship.
The Bearcats swept the doubles matches before
Fanni Varga and
Mehak Singh took care of business on their singles matches to help SBU claim a 5-0 victory. The other three singles matches were either not finished, or started, as SBU had already won the match.
SBU will return to action on Tuesday, April 16 when they host Washburn University as the Bearcats look to remain perfect in MIAA action. Play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. from Bolivar.
