Edmond, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team finished their 2012-13 season with an 89-103 loss to Central Oklahoma in the first round of the MIAA tournament.
Rashaad Brown-Peterson gave SBU a career high 26 points but it wasn't enough in the Bearcats loss.
The Bearcats jumped out on top early, leading 2-0 off of a
Damion Hooks basket, and held tight with the Bronchos for the first six minutes of the contest. Central Oklahoma built their lead up to 25 by the half, with the Bearcats down 40-65 going into the break. SBU fought back in the second half, trimming the lead down to 12 late in the game, but it wasn't enough as SBU dropped the game 89-103.
Rashaad Brown-Peterson gave SBU a career high 26 points off of 9 of 11 shooting from the field.
Damion Hooks had 20 points, all in the first half, and
Preston Guiot had another double-double with 12 points and 12 assists. As a team SBU shot 53.1% from the field, 45.9% from beyond the arc, and 44.4% from the free throw line.
The Bearcats finish the 2012-13 season with a record of 9-17 (7-11 MIAA).
