Box Score Springfield, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team dropped a non-conference match-up against Missouri Western on Monday evening in Springfield, 3-10.
The Bearcats quickly jumped ahead 1-0 in the top half of the first. With one out
Ross Wolfe doubled to left center, followed by a walk by
Drew Miller.
Spencer Blacksher then hit an rbi single up the middle to put SBU up 1-0. Missouri Western responded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning as SBU went down 1-4. The Bearcats got one run back in the top of sixth off of an rbi double from
Aaron Anderson to cut the lead to 2-4. Western would score six straight runs, with the Bearcats getting one run back in the top of the ninth off of an rbi single from
Drew Miller, as SBU dropped the contest 3-10.
Kyle Jochems led the way for the Bearcats with two hits, while Blacksher, Anderson, and Miller all had rbi hits in the Bearcats loss.
SBU will be back in action on Tuesday, March 5 when they take on Missouri Western in another non-conference match-up. Opening pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri.
