Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team lost both games of a double header against Drury on Tuesday afternoon, dropping game one 5-1, and game two 3-0.
In game one Drury jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a half inning of play before SBU responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. After a leadoff walk by
Landon Young, Young was advanced to second off of a groundout, and was brought home on a double over the centerfielder's head by
Drew Miller to cut the lead in half. However, SBU could not add any more runs on the day as the Bearcats fell 1-5 in the first game, and 0-3 in the second game.
Drew Miller led the way for SBU with an rbi double, while
Landon Young,
Ross Wolfe, and
Spencer Blacksher all had two hits on the day. In game one
Cole Roark pitched well, giving SBU 5.0 innings while allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits, and in game two
Justin Pasichnyk allowed three runs over 6.0 innings in the second game.
SBU will hit the road on Friday, March 22 when they travel to Emporia State for a matchup with the Hornets. Opening pitch of the double header is set for 1:00 p.m. from Emporia, Kan.
