Box Score 2 St. Joseph, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team dropped two MIAA matches against Missouri Western on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats fell 0-5 in game one, followed by a 0-8 game two loss.
In game one the Bearcats fell behind 0-5 after the first two innings before SBU pitcher
Lyndie Routh got into a grove. Over the next four innings Routh would allow only two hits, but SBU was unable to get on the scoreboard as they lost game one 0-5. In game two the Bearcats were also unable to get on the scoreboard as they fell 0-8 in five innings.
Alandria Jensen led SBU with two hits on the day, while Routh,
Cendyl Carter, and
Stef Lischke all picked up one hit.
The Bearcats will return home on Tuesday, March 19 for a non-conference matchup with Ottawa. The Bearcats are set to play eight straight home games, with the double header against Ottawa set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
