SBU Women's Basketball Hits the Road to Take on Pittsburg State on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - SBU continues their four-game road trip by traveling to Pittsburg State on Saturday. The Bearcats are coming off of a 63-69 loss at Missouri Southern.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss in his second season on the Bearcat bench. Coach Voss has compiled a 126-60 (.677) career collegiate coaching record (18-28 at SBU), and has made two NAIA Final Four appearances while as head coach. Coach Voss comes to SBU after spending 5 years as the assistant women's basketball coach at Drake University.

Lane Lord enters his seventh season as head women's basketball coach at Pittsburg State University. He currently holds an 87-58 career record and was named MIAA Coach of the Year in 2008-09.

Pittsburg State leads the all-time series against the Bearcats 28-24, with PSU claiming a 54-63 victory over SBU last time these two teams met.

Scouting the Bearcats
SBU continues their four-game road stretch at Pittsburg State on Saturday. SBU is led in scoring and rebounding by Jacqui Zelenka who averages 12.6 ppg and 9.9 rpg. The Bearcats support a balanced offense with four different players averaging over eight and half points per game: Jacqui Zelenka (12.6), Chasity Prince (12.4), Brittney Dukes (11.1), and Brook Duncan (8.6).

Scouting the Gorillas
Pittsburg State is coming off of a 63-48 upset over Truman, and are now 13-7 (7-5 MIAA). The Gorillas are led in scoring by Lizzy Jeronimus (their only player in double-figures) at 18.6 ppg and 6.6 rpg. As a team PSU holds opponents to 35.8% shooting and 58.5 points per game.

Chasity Prince ranks 15th in the MIAA in Scoring (12.4 ppg) and 12th in FG Percentage (47.6%), while Britney Dukes ranks 23rd in the MIAA in Scoring (11.1 ppg).
