Bolivar, Mo. - On a chilly day in Bolivar, Central Oklahoma took the final game of the three-game series 13-3 after SBU claimed both victories on Thursday.
Central Oklahoma jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead after the first, but SBU responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. After a couple of walks, a sacrifice, and another walk,
Spencer Blacksher hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield bringing home
Aaron Anderson to tie the game up at 1-1.
The Bronchos added three more in the fourth, but the Bearcats once again responded an inning later. With runners on the corners and two outs,
Landon Young tripled to center field, plating both
Bo Helsel and
Ross Wolfe, to pull SBU within one at 4-3. Central Oklahoma would score the next nine runs as they went on to take game three 13-3.
Bo Helsel and
William Swofford both collected multiple hits for the Bearcats in the loss.
SBU will return to action on Wednesday, February 20 when they host Truman State. Opening pitch for game one of the double-header is set for 12:00 p.m. from Dodson Field in Bolivar.
