Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's volleyball team picked up their 17th victory of the season with a 3-0 sweep over Missouri Southern on Saturday afternoon. The win gives the Bearcats their most wins in a season since 1987.

The Bearcats had to use a come from behind effort in set one, but would take the set 25-23. SBU then took the next two sets 25-21 and 25-13 to move to 17-12 (6-8 MIAA) while Missouri Southern falls to 4-24 (0-14 MIAA).

Mackynzi Gibson led the way for the SBU front, picking up a team high 11 kills while hitting .444 in the victory. Jenna Isaacs also had a strong day, collecting 9 kills, while McKinley Chesley had 7. Kelsey Fankhauser continues to run the setting duties for the Bearcats, picking up 35 assists, while Hannah Blount had 12 digs in the win.

SBU will hit the road for their final two games of the regular season as SBU hopes to advance to MIAA Tournament later this month. The Bearcats will travel to Missouri Western on Thursday, November 14 for a match against the Griffons. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from St. Joseph, Missouri.
