SBU Football Senior Day set for Saturday Against Central Oklahoma

Bolivar, Mo. - SBU returns home for their final home contest of the 2013 season when they host Central Oklahoma. The Bearcats are coming off of a 31-3 loss on the road against Northeastern State, and will look to get back on the winning track. SBU quarterback Joey Dominguez is averaging 138.3 yards through the air for the first half of the season, while wide receiver Derwyn Lauderdale is averaging 116.4 receiving yards per game. Shaquille Shedd leads the Bearcat defense with 61 total tackles, while Ivan Hodges has 2 interceptions.

Craig Schuler continues his first season on the Bearcat bench after coming to SBU from Lindenwood University. Coach Schuler completed his ninth year as an assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Lindenwood this past season where he also served as recruiting coordinator. Schuler led one of the most prolific offenses in the nation during his tenure at Lindenwood, including averaging 45 points per game since the beginning of the 2009 season (45-game stretch). In 2010 Schuler's offense averaged a national record 8.94 yards per snap.

??Nick Bobeck is in his 2nd season as the head coach for Central Oklahoma. Bobeck holds a career record of 2-8.

The series between Southwest Baptist and Central Oklahoma is tied 2-2. The Bearcats claimed the last meeting between the two schools 24-16 last year at UCO.

Central Oklahoma comes into the game against the Bearcats with a 1-7 (1-7 MIAA) record after winning their last game against Lincoln 49-42. UCO presents a balanced offense, averaging almost 150 yards rushing and 277 yards passing per game. Joshua Birmingham leads the Central Oklahoma ground attack, averaging 96.1 yards per game with 15 total touchdowns. Adrian Nelson is the top signal caller, throwing for 248.0 yards per game while wide receiver Marquez Clark averages 144.0 receiving yards per game. Defensively, Adrian Shoecraft leads UCO with 64 total tackles while Kenny Allen has 4.5 sacks.
