Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team used two first half goals to propel themselves to a 2-1 victory over Lindenwood in the first round of the MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament.
Ashley Creason continued her strong senior campaign by putting SBU up 1-0 with her 9th goal of the season when she took a pass from
Karla Jamison and hit the upper left corner of the goal. The Bearcats would extend their lead with
Karla Jamison's 8th goal of the season on a pass from
Caroline Karlsson, giving SBU a 2-0 lead. Lindenwood got one back in the 33rd minute off of a goal from Danielle Torry, cutting the SBU lead to 2-1. The Bearcats continued their strong defensive play into the second half, as they came away with a 2-1 victory.
SBU now advances to the semi-finals to take on Emporia State. SBU's semi-final match will be played on Friday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. from College Boulevard Activities Complex in Olathe, Kansas.
