Box Score 2 Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team hosted both Southern Arkansas and #11 Washburn on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats earned a split on the day, defeating Southern Arkansas 3-1 before losing to #11 Washburn 3-0.
Against Southern Arkansas, the Bearcats were in control throughout most of the match. After winning the first two sets 25-18 and 25-23, Southern Arkansas came back to take set three 21-25 before SBU claimed the fourth set 25-14.
Jordan Nedbalek had a solid game for SBU, picking up a team high 13 kills to go along with 6 total blocks in the victory.
Mackynzi Gibson also had double-digit kills, with 10, while Lindsay Terry and
Lindsey Roy split the setting duties with Terry collecting 22 assists and Roy 16.
Hannah Blount once agian led the SBU backcourt with 27 digs while
Kaitlyn Allison had 13 and
McKinley Chesley had 10.
Against Washburn, the Ichabods took all three sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.
Hannah Blount picked up 20 digs in the loss while Lindsay Terry gave SBU a double-double with 13 assists and 11 digs.
The Bearcats will continue their five game homestand on Tuesday, November 5 when they host Lindenwood. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
