SBU Football Falls at Northeastern State 31-3

Box Score Tahlequah, Okla. - The SBU football team fell at Northeastern State on Saturday afternoon 31-3. Trailing 10-3 at the half, Northeastern State turned it on in the second half as SBU falls to 1-8 (1-7 MIAA) on the season.

The Bearcats and RiverHawks played an extremely tight first half of the game. Northeastern State would take a 3-0 lead late in the first quarter, and then add a second quarter touchdown to take a 10-0 lead. With 4:19 left in the first half, John Colliver connected on a 31 yard field goal to pull SBU within 7 at 10-3. However, the Bearcats would not get on the scoreboard for the remainder of the game as Northeastern State would go on to a 31-3 victory, backed by 305 rushing yards.

Derwyn Lauderdale continues to have a strong season, posting his 7th 100+ yard receiving day, hauling in 12 passes for 115 yards. On the ground, quarterback Joey Dominguez led the way with 75 rushing yards while Robert McWright had 68 and ViaVia Manuma added 54. Defensively, Zach Moore led SBU with 9 tackles, including three for a loss, and Moore and Johnathan Drury both had sacks.

SBU will return home for senior day on Saturday, November 9. The Bearcats will host Central Oklahoma with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. from Plaster Stadium in Bolivar.
