Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats will open up their 2013-14 season when they host the Lady Panthers of Drury University in the annual Bank of Bolivar 'Cat Fight.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss in his third season on the Bearcat bench. Coach Voss has compiled a 128-65 career coaching record (20-33 at SBU), and has made two NAIA Final Four appearances while as head coach. Coach Voss comes to SBU after spending 5 years as the assistant women's basketball coach at Drake University.

Steve Huber holds a career coaching record of 108-55, after spending the past seven seasons as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Creighton University of the Missouri Valley Conference. He's also been an assistant at the D-I level at Louisville and San Diego State and at D-II Central Missouri.

Drury leads the all-time series against the Bearcats 4-1. Drury claimed last year's meeting between the two teams 60-55 at Drury.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats will open up their 2013-14 season after three exhibition games, two against Division I opponents. In SBU's most recent exhibition contest, the Bearcats claimed an 82-62 victory and were led in scoring by Brook Duncan with 20 points.

SBU has five players averaging more than seven points through the three exhibition contests to begin the season. Brook Duncan leads the way averaging 11.3 points per game, followed by Lissette Plasencia (8.7), Morgan Lucy (8.0), Ashley Emmons (8.0), and Tanis Spani (7.0).

Scouting the Panthers
Last season Drury University went 14-13 (8-10 GLVC). The Lady Panthers currently sit at 1-0, defeating Missouri Southern their last time out. Sanayika Shields led DU in scoring and rebounding with 13 points and 7 boards, while Shelby White and Lauren McCurry both were in double figures.
