Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team picked up another MIAA victory on Thursday afternoon, defeating the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri 2-0.
The Bearcats of Southwest Baptist had a dominating first half, outshooting Northwest Missouri 12-2. SBU first got on the scoreboard in the 27th minute when
Ashley Creason hit a rocket from 30 feet out off of a pass from
Elin Hammar to go up 1-0. SBU would take a 1-0 lead heading into the break. In the second half Creason scored her second goal of the day when Hammar fed
Caroline Karlsson on the left side of the goal, who tapped it over to Creason, to put SBU up 2-0. The two goals were more than enough for SBU goalie
Paige Hemphill. Hemphill picked up her third shutout on the season, while picking up 2 saves behind a solid SBU defensive performance.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 26 for senior day against Missouri Western. The game is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
