Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team earned a tie on Thursday afternoon against Upper Iowa, with a 1-1 finish after two overtimes.
The Bearcats had a strong performance on the afternoon, and took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute.
Kaleb Romero scored his 9th goal on the season when he headed a
Cody Martin pass over the goalie, and then placed the ball in the back of the net. SBU continued to battle, but Upper Iowa tied the game up at 1-1 with a goal in the 75th minute of play. The Bearcats had opportunities in overtime, but a shot from
Nathan Fraley hit the crossbar, and SBU ended the game with a 1-1 tie.
SBU will return to action on Tuesday, October 29 when they play host to William Woods. Senior day is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
