Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - For the first time in school history, SBU Volleyball (14-8, 4-5 MIAA) defeated Central Oklahoma (16-6, 6-4 MIAA) 3-2 on Tuesday evening in Bolivar.
The Bearcats took the first set 25-23 before falling in set two 25-18. The Bearcats responded to take game three 25-19, but the back-and-forth battle continued as UCO took game four 25-22. In thrilling fashion, the Bearcats took the final set 15-10 to claim the 3-2 victory.
SBU continued their strong play with four ladies registering double digit kills, and four with double digit digs.
Jenna Isaacs led the way for the Bearcats with 18 kills, while Taryon Marton added 13,
Nikki Madoch 11, and
Jordan Nedbalek 10.
Defensively, Marton and
Hannah Blount both had a game high 25 digs, while
Kaitlyn Allison had 16 and
McKinley Chesley added 14 digs in the win.
Kelsey Fankhauser continues to handle the setting duties, giving SBU 50 assists in the victory.
The Bearcats will hit the road on Friday, October 25 when they travel to #8 Nebraska-Kearney. The match against the Lopers is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
