Jamison & Karlsson Lead SBU to 2-1 OT Victory over Central Oklahoma

Box Score Edmond, Okla. - In exciting fashion, the SBU women's soccer team completed a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Central Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon. In the closing minutes in regulation, SBU was able to tie the game up at 1-1, before netting the winning goal during the first overtime.

Central Oklahoma's Emily Precure scored the first goal of the contest in the 39th minute to give UCO a 1-0 lead. Both defenses continued to play outstanding, as the game entered into the final five minutes with UCO still holding a 1-0 lead. With just over two minutes left in regulation, Kate Jamison knocked in a goal from 25 feet out to tie the contest at 1-1, forcing SBU's second overtime game in three days.

In overtime, Caroline Karlsson scored her first collegiate goal with only 53 seconds left in the period, hitting the right side of the net from 20 feet out to give the Bearcats a 2-1 victory. In goal, Paige Hemphill picked up 5 saves, while the win is the first time in program history where SBU has defeated UCO.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, October 24 when they are set to host Northwest Missouri. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
