Box Score Bolivar, Mo. -
Kaleb Romero and
Bradley Stillwagon both scored goals for the Bearcats, but SBU dropped the men's soccer match to Ouachita Baptist 5-2.
The Bearcats were the first to strike in the 22nd minute when
Kaleb Romero took the ball down the right side of the field, past a couple of defenders, and placed the ball into the left side of the goal to put SBU up 1-0. OBU responded four minutes later with a goal of their own, to tie the game up at 1-1. The Bearcats and Tigers would keep each other off the scoreboard for the remainder of the half, going into halftime tied 1-1.
In the second half,
Bradley Stillwagon broke the tie when
Gaspar Mata fed him the ball off of a free kick, as Stillwagon hit the upper left corner of the net on a 25 yard strike to put SBU up 2-1. However, the Bearcats could not hold off the Tigers, as OBU would net four goals in the final 13 minutes of play as OBU would claim a 5-2 victory.
SBU will quickly return to action on Thursday, October 3 when they are set to host Southern Nazarene. The MIAA match is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field.
