Jefferson City, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team dropped an MIAA road match-up against Lincoln 65-77. The Bearcats had four players score in double figures in the loss.
The Bearcats jumped out of the gates quickly in the first half, scoring the first six points of the game, and led by as many as 9 in the first half. SBU led the Blue Tigers for the entire first half, taking a 35-32 lead going into halftime. In the second half Lincoln used a 21-6 run at the beginning of the half to go up 12, as the Bearcats dropped the game against the Blue Tigers 65-77.
Chasity Prince led a balanced offensive attack, scoring 13 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field. Leann Lansdown added 12 points,
Tanis Spani had 11 points, while
Brittney Dukes gave SBU 10 points. As a team SBU shot 45.6% from the field, 31.6% from beyond the arc, and 63.6% from the free throw line.
The Bearcats will return home on Tuesday, January 8 when they are set to host Emporia State. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
