SBU Women's Basketball Closes out Road Trip at Lincoln

Bolivar, Mo. - SBU continues their road trip at Lincoln on Saturday, January 5. The Bearcats are coming off of a 63-66 loss at Central Missouri and now sit at 6-5 (1-2 MIAA) on the season.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss in his second season on the Bearcat bench. Coach Voss has compiled a 123-54 (.695) career coaching record (15-22 at SBU), and has made two NAIA Final Four appearances while as head coach. Coach Voss comes to SBU after spending 5 years as the assistant women's basketball coach at Drake University.

Nicole Collier, an assistant with the Lincoln women's basketball team over the past three seasons, was elevated to the position of head coach on May 21. Over the past three years, Collier has helped Lincoln transition from playing in the Heartland Conference to playing in the MIAA.

SBU leads the all-time series against the Blue Tigers 25-7, with the Bearcats claiming a 79-59 victory at Lincoln last year.

Scouting the Bearcats
SBU continues their MIAA road trip when at match-up against the Blue Tigers in Jefferson City. SBU is led in scoring and rebounding by Jacqui Zelenka who averages 12.4 ppg and 9.5 rpg. The Bearcats support a balanced offense with four different players averaging over ten points per game: Brook Duncan (10.9), Brittney Dukes (10.2), and Chasity Prince (11.0).

Scouting the Blue Tigers
Lincoln is coming off of a 71-53 loss against Truman to kick off the new year, and now sit at 6-5 (1-2 MIAA). LU is led in scoring by Arriana Walker who is averaging 14.4 ppg to go along with 5.5 rpg and 4.3 apg. Freddie Sims and Dahlia Booker both average in double figures, averaging 13.9 ppg and 10.1 ppg respectively.
