Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team dropped their contest against Northwest Missouri on Tuesday evening 51-70. SBU falls to 5-11 (3-5 MIAA) while Northwest Missouri improves to 13-4 (6-2 MIAA).
The Bearcats got on the scoreboard first with a
Jayon'e Troutman dunk to open up the contest, but Northwest Missouri would lead for the remainder of the game as SBU fell 51-70.
Troutman was the leading scorer for the Bearcats finishing with 12 points on 5 of 7 shooting from the field.
Damion Hooks also scored in double figures for SBU with 10 points, while
Ricky Odige added 8 points and
Jaywuan Hill had 7 points and 9 rebounds. As a team SBU shot 36.6% from the field, 27.8% from beyond the arc, and 76.2% from the free throw line.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, January 26 when they are set to host Nebraska-Kearney. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. with the SBU Hall of Fame/Honors Night Banquet following the conclusion of the men's game.
