SBU Men's Basketball Begins New Year at Central Missouri on Wednesday

Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats return to MIAA play when they travel to Warrensburg to take on Central Missouri. The Bearcats come into the match-up 2-8 (0-2 MIAA), while the Mules sit at 7-3 (1-1 MIAA).

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his ninth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles and compiled a 159-89 (.641) record. Coach Guiot is the winningest coach in SBU history, has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and has three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Kim Anderson enters his eleventh season on the Mules bench where he has compiled a 222-82 (.730) career record. Anderson is winningest coach in Central Missouri school history, guiding the Mules to two MIAA regular season championships, three MIAA tournament titles, and has won at least 24 games five times.

UCM leads the all-time series against the Bearcats 35-22.

Scouting the Bearcats
SBU returns to MIAA action after a 71-78 loss at Arkansas Monticello. SBU is led in scoring by Preston Guiot who averages 10.8 ppg and 4.7 apg, while Damion Hooks (10.3 ppg) and Gilbert Gyamfi (9.2 ppg) both average over nine points per game.

Scouting the Mules
UCM returns to action after a two week break with a record of 7-3 (1-1 MIAA). The Mules are led in scoring by Dominique Long, averaging 13.1 points per game. UCM also has two other players averaging double-digit scoring in Charles Hammork (10.8 ppg) and Widgett Washington (10.7 ppg and 4.1 apg).
