Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team started of their home portion of the 2012 season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Northeastern Oklahoma State University on Friday morning in Bolivar. The Bearcats took the first game 25-12, the second 25-19, and the third 25-22.
The Bearcats were able to play a wide range of players in Friday's victory, playing 15 Bearcats across the three games.
Mackynzi Gibson led all Bearcat attackers with 13 kills and an attack percentage of .522.
Kaitlyn Allison headed the backcourt giving SBU 16 digs, while
Whitney Miller led SBU in assists with 21. As a team the Bearcats hit an excellent .480 in the first game, and finished the entire match hitting .255.
With the win, SBU moves to 3-2 overall and will face off against Drury University. The match-up with the Panthers is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. to close out day one of the SBU Bearcat Bash.
