Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team played a tough game against Drury on Friday, but ultimately dropped the contest 3-1. The Bearcats claimed the first set 26-24 before dropping the next three 25-20, 25-23, and 25-23.
Jordan Nedbalek led the Bearcat attack, collecting 12 kills for SBU while hitting .478 on the evening, while
Mackynzi Gibson added 8 kills while hitting .412. McKinley Chelsey,
Jenna Isaacs, and
Carrie Johnson all added 7 kills in the loss. The setting duties were split evenly between
Kelsey Fankhauser and
Whitney Miller, with Miller collecting 21 assists and Fankhauser 19. In the backcourt,
Kaitlyn Allison once again led SBU in digs with 13.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, September 8 for the second day of the SBU Bearcat Bash. The Bearcats will host East Central at 11:00 a.m. followed by a match-up with Texas A&M Kingsville at 5:30 p.m.
