Bolivar, Mo. -
Megan Link provided SBU with her fifth shutout of the season while
Karla Jamison gave the Bearcats her team leading fourth goal on the year to lead SBU to a 1-0 victory over Washburn. With the victory, SBU moves to 5-3-1 (2-1-1 MIAA) on the season while Washburn drops to 1-6 (1-2 MIAA) this year.
The Bearcats and Lady Blues were caught in a defensive battle throughout the game on Saturday. The game went into halftime with 17 total shots taken, but a 0-0 tie. Defense continued to dominate the game until the final six minutes when
Karla Jamison took the ball down the right side, weaved through the Lady Blues defense, and put a shot square in the goal over the WU's goalie's head to put SBU up 1-0. The goal was enough for the Bearcats defense, and keeper
Megan Link, as SBU went on to the 1-0 victory. Link continued her outstanding season in goal, collecting eight saves against Washburn today.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Monday, September 25 when they host William Jewell College. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
